  • 2017 Community Needs Assessment  (CNA) Survery Results

A message from Dr. Ann Renker, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning:

Research and best practice identify community input as a key component in improving student outcomes. In order to access community input during the budgeting and planning process for next year, the district gathered data during a window from November 14 to December 12, 2016. This is the second consecutive CNA conducted by the Sequim School District. The survery instrument maintained questions and methodology from the 2016 CNA as much as possible so trend data could emerge. The largest change in the 2017 CNA was shifting all questions which could be answered by all respondents to the initial section of the CNA, and grouping all questions for housholds with children enrolled in the Sequim School District for the second part of the survery. The tabulated data is presented here . Many thanks to all the people who took the time to participate in the survey.

  • Second Saturday Science at the Sequim Branch of the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is offered every second Saturday of the month through May 2017.  Each program, with the exception of the May 13 session, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and offer children ages 7-12 fun, hands-on opportunities to explore concepts related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  All classes in the series are free, and preregistration is required for all sessions due to limited space.  To register, visit the Sequim Branch Library events calendar at www.nols.org, call the library at 360-683-1161, or send an email to youth@nols.org.  All materials will be provided.  For more information, click on the following link:  flyer.

  • VOLUNTEERS:  Volunteers must be cleared each school year.  This year, the district is introducing an all-online system for volunteer clearance.  Individuals interested in volunteering in Sequim Schools may begin an online volunteer application process for the 2016-17 school year at https://sequimvolunteers.hrmplus.net/.  The online application process requires an e-mail address and provides step-by-step assistance.  A current Washington State driver's license or state ID card is required in order to run a background check. Please complete your application at least two weeks prior to the date you wish to begin volunteering to allow for the clearance process.
