Inspire and Achieve!

GREETINGS, CLALLAM COUNTY SCHOOL RETIREES’ ASSOCIATION (CCSRA - Unit 3)

If you are a new member, welcome! If you are still working as a school employee, we know that it is unlikely that you can attend, but we want to keep you aware of what we do. We are planning events for you this spring. See the details below.*** By the way, if you are a cash member who pays dues once a year and choose to change to dues deduction, please let us know. Your reward will be $10 off your first luncheon at Joshua’s Restaurant after you sign up.

Please reply if you will be attending. Also, if you are interested in the field trip outlined below, you can let me know or sign up at the luncheon.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Thursday, April 6th: CCSRA Field Trip

Meet at Olympic National Park Visitor Center, 3002 Mt. Angeles Rd, Port Angeles at 10:00. Depending on the weather, we may or may not take a nature walk. We will head to Fanaticus Sports Grill, 1026 E. First Street for lunch. After lunch we will go to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E Lauridsen Blvd. Currently there is a special exhibit of Clark Mundy’s work. He is the metal sculpture person who created the spiral staircase at the Landing Mall. Think about joining us for all or part of the trip. Transportation is on your own, but if you would like a ride, let us know.

BOOK CLUB: at 1:00 on second Thursday

On the second Thursday of each month, we have a book club meeting in the Library at Traylor’s Restaurant at 1:00.  Bring a book to share or learn about some books you might want to read - an informal meeting of folks who like to read. Come and enjoy the camaraderie and a meal or snack.

For April 18th a speaker will tell us about developments of the Olympic Discovery Trail.

On May 16th, local author Teresa Schoeffel-Lingvall will speak about her book about the history of the Olympic Hot Springs.

We will have a potluck picnic in late June. Date to be decided.
