What is an HSA?
Health Savings accounts (HSAs) were created as part of the Medicare Reform Act signed into law by Congress December 2003, to provide individuals with a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP) a tax free option to pay for qualified medidal expenses and save for future expenses.
Am I Eligible?
There are several items to consider in the establishment and contribution to an HSA:
- You must be covered under a "qualified high deductible health plan" (QHDHP) that meets the following guidelines. Check with your insurance carrier or employer about a QHDHP that works with a HSA.
