My child is going to miss school today.  Who do I need to notify?

A

Please call the office at 582-3200 as soon as you can if your child won't be in school that day.

Q

My child is coming in late for school today.  Do I need to notify the school?

A

If your child is coming in late, give the office a call at 582-3200 and have them stop in the office before they go to class to pick up a tardy slip.

Q

I need to take my child out of school early today.  What do I need to do?

A

Children leaving the school during the day must bring a pink slip or signed note from home permitting us to excuse them.  Anyone calling for a child must come into the office to sign the child out.

Q

If I drive my child to school or pick my child up, where do I drop off/pick up?

A

Our parking lot is very congested just before and after school.  If you drop off and/or pick up your child, please read the following information and follow directions of school safety staff:

1.  Our parking lot is one way; east to west

2.   Enter the main parking lot on the east end of the campus.  Exit on the west end.  This is also the exit for the Boys & Girls Club.  It can and will be congested.

3.  Pull ahead as far as possible along the sidewalk curb closest to the building and stop only long enough to pick up your child.  Please don’t pull into the upper parking area and have your child cross in front of other cars.  Children should enter your car directly from the sidewalk.  Once your child is safely in the car, pull out into the other lane and proceed out of the parking lot.

4.  Or:  park in the parking lot and go to meet your child.  Do not allow your child to walk through the parking lot without an adult.

5.  Or:  use the pickup/drop off area on Fir St.  You can pull in, have your child exit/enter the car onto the sidewalk and pull out.

6.  Please park only in designated parking slots.

7.  Go slow – be aware – stay safe – buckle up.

Q

My child seems to have lost their coat (lunchbox, backpack, etc.); do you have a lost and found?

Q

I'm interested in volunteering at the school.  Who should I contact?

A

Volunteers need to complete a volunteer registration form each year.  The process is all online.  Please see the Volunteer tab under Parent Resources on our web page.

Q

Do you have a dress code?

A

We ask that children are dressed appropriately for weather, recess and physical education.  Flip flops and open toed shoes are not allowed.  A child's appearance should not in any way interrupt their learning or the learning of others.

Q

Do I have to send lunch money in with my child every day, or can I buy a week's worth of lunches all at one time?

A

You can add as much money to your child's lunch account as you want to.  You can send money or pay online through Family Access.  Students will bring home a notice when their account is running low.
